Our language shapes how we process the world around us. One of the great delights in travel is encountering a word or phrase in another language that describes a universal human feeling, but for some reason has no direct English translation. The Germans, in particular, have been geniuses at inventing "compound" words that elegantly articulate emotions or experiences that we can all relate to, but require entire clumsy sentences to express. Great for the armchair traveler, too!
